DIVINE HEALING
PROMISES FROM GOD.
The Word of God has God’s healing marked through the Bible from Genius to
Revelations. It weaves through the books of the Bible like a scarlet cord. It
goes from Abraham praying for Melchisedec to the Healing of the Nations in
Revelations. In this message I want to share just a few promises from God along
with a few thoughts.
I know that in
this age of the media it is easy for people to get their eyes on man. It is not
man who can answer prayer, as he did not make the promise. It is God who made
the promise and is the only one who can deliver on His promise. (Isa 53:5 KJV)
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
(1 Pet 2:24 KJV)
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead
to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
I. Divine
healing comes only from God. David saw this promise when he was praising God.
(Psa 103:1 KJV) A Psalm of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is
within me, bless his holy name.
(Psa 103:2 KJV) Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
(Psa 103:3 KJV) Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy
diseases;
II. The person
of Jesus Christ is unchanging.
(Heb 13:8 KJV) Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
A. His word is unchanging.
(Mat 24:35 KJV) Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass
away.
Psa 119:89 For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.
1, He is the living Word.
(John 1:1 KJV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was
with God, and the Word was God.
III. He healed
not only great multitudes but He healed them all!
(Mat 12:15 KJV) But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and
great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;
IV. He healed
all who touched or came to Him in faith.
(Mat 14:36 KJV) And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his
garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.
V. Everyone
wanted to touch Him. It would be wonderful if all wanted to touch Him today.
(Luke 6:19 KJV) And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went
virtue out of him, and healed them all.
A. We can still touch Him in faith. He is still our intercessor in heaven.
(Heb 4:15 KJV) For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the
feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet
without sin.
1. He knows our needs.
2. He knows all about us.
a. He knows how many hairs you have.
b. Do you know?
VI. His Word had and has power to deliver and heal.
(Mat 8:16 KJV) When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were
possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all
that were sick:
(Mat 8:17 KJV) That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the
prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
A. He paid the price for our full salvation. He carried our sins,
infirmities and sicknesses upon Himself to the cross.
VII. He seemed Jesus healed both day and night.
(Luke 4:40 KJV) Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick
with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one
of them, and healed them.
A. He is a 24/7 savior.
VIII.
Everywhere He went He was doing good.
(Acts 10:38 KJV) How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and
with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of
the devil; for God was with him.
We are living in a time in which millions of people are exploring alternatives
to traditional Western Medicine. A “holistic health explosion,” it has been
called. We realize, of course, that traditional Western Medicine is very
valuable and, for most of us, when we get sick, it is the first place we turn
to. It is a gift from God, and we thank God for the dedicated persons who serve
their fellow human beings through the practice of traditional Western Medicine.
But, today, millions and millions of people are exploring a growing list of
alternative healing methods: Bio Feedback, Autogenics Training, Kenesiology,
Acupuncture, Guided Imagery, Bio Energetics, Reflexology, Stress Management,
Gestalt Therapy, Therapeutic Touch, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, Macrobiotics (and
that’s just a partial list.). Many people are finding help in some of these
alternative healing methods.
But the remarkable thing about them is that people
are discerning, more and more, that the actual healing is in none of them. They
can remove some of the obstacles to healing. They can help to evoke it, but the
healing itself is in the power of God.
My wife sings a song on one of her albums call Healing is for Today. I believe
this is true. It was the healing of my mother in 1949 in a Kathryn Kuhlman
meeting when there was not hope that led to the salvation of our who family. In
20 years my mother prayed everyone both on her side and the side of my fathers
family.
