FIRE, LIGHT AND POWER
I. FIRE ATTRACTS.
Matt 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that
cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he
shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: (KJV)
1. FIRE GIVES OFF LIGHT SHINES IN DARKNESS.
- John 9:5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
- John 5:35 He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a
season to rejoice in his light. (KJV)
- Matt 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot
be hid. (KJV)
2. SMOKE HOWEVER GIVES OFF NO LIGHT CAN ONLY BE SEEN WHEN
THERE IS LIGHT.
a. Some Christians only are seen in church giving off
smoke when they in this darken world should be reflecting the light of the Lord
that is in the. Many believers are only seen when they are in the light or
anointing of other saints
b. This ought not to be. The world needs light.
II. LIGHT OF CHRIST IN US.
Jesus said: Matt 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see
your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
A. THIS LIGHT LIVING AND WORKING IN US DOES THE WORKS OF GOD.
B. What is the Work of God, it is first to believe on Him, the Lord Jesus
Christ and on the Father who has sent Him in to the World.
III. POWER.
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon
you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and
in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. (KJV)
A. HOW DID THEY RECEIVE IT?
- Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one
accord in one place. (KJV)
1. They where all in one accord. Unity in the Body of Christ,
which is the Church, this bring power.
(Deu 32:30 KJV) How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to
flight, …
(Mat 18:19 KJV) Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as
touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father
which is in heaven.
B. WILL IT WORK TODAY?
(Mat 24:35 KJV) Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass
away.
(Heb 13:8 KJV) Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in
the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the
gift of the Holy Ghost. (KJV)
Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are
afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
IV. WHERE DOES THIS FIRE, LIGHT AND POWER COME FROM?
John 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his
belly shall flow rivers of living water. (KJV)
A. WE RECEIVE THE SPIRIT WHEN WE ARE SAVED AND WE GIVE TO OTHERS WITH A
DIPPER FROM THE WELL BUT THE HOLY SPIRIT WANTS TO SPRING UP AND OUT OF US
FLOWING LIKE LIVING WATERS.
B. WE RECEIVE BY FAITH OUR DAILY INFILLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT FROM THE BY
ASKING HIM.
Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your
children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them
that ask him? (KJV)
Luke 11:10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and
to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
